Terms of Service
Last updated: July 16, 2026
1. What these terms cover
These terms cover the use of this website (buildcaptain.dev) and, where noted, the BuildCaptain macOS application ("the App"). By using the website or the App you agree to these terms.
2. The App and your license
BuildCaptain is a native macOS application distributed exclusively through Apple's Mac App Store as a one-time purchase — there is no subscription and no recurring billing. Your license to use the App is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, granted for use on Macs you own or control, as permitted by the Mac App Store usage rules.
3. Purchases and refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. Prices are shown on the App Store listing and may vary by region. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Volume licensing for organizations is available on request.
4. Your Jenkins server
The App is a client for Jenkins servers that you operate or have permission to use. You are responsible for your Jenkins credentials, for the actions you (or AI agents you authorize through the App's agent-access feature) trigger on your server, and for complying with your organization's policies. The App acts only on your instructions and within the permissions your Jenkins account grants.
5. The companion CLI
The optional BuildCaptain CLI is open-source software licensed under the MIT license; its license terms are in its repository and take precedence for the CLI itself.
6. Acceptable use of the website
Don't attempt to disrupt the website, probe it for vulnerabilities outside responsible disclosure, or scrape it at abusive rates.
7. Disclaimer and liability
The website and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the website or the App — including build failures, deployment outcomes, or actions triggered on your Jenkins server. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer, including those under the Mac App Store terms.
8. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves; the date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
